Fellow NIDIA Members,
In 2015 NIDIA started new initiatives to probe interest across our Association – in 2016 we will refine the initiatives based on feedback and results. For example, our Mega Conferences will only run from 8am to 1pm, ending immediately after the lunchtime presentation. For our Air Force Research Lab Tour, we’ll only be taking a 29 PAX bus to better service the members attending the tours. And we will put emphasis on research and development but try to focus it only towards those interested through a business innovation matchmaking event. And finally, with our first ever Legislative Breakfast on July 15th, we’ll provide our local, state and federal legislators a simple 2020 Plan that they can follow to assist in growing our defense industry locally.
For the upcoming conference, we will focus on strategy as a consortium of defense companies, something the Purdue Team calls Strategic Doing. So often we focus only on our companies and not on the level of partnership needed to grow our businesses – this discussion should explore in your mind things that we can do across our NE Indiana defense industry to grow. In addition, we are bringing in Bloomberg Defense out of New York City to demonstrate their automated tools in the defense sector that will allow you to focus your efforts where there is existing and/or new good business – I think you’ll appreciate the power these tools can bring!
With the lineup for this conference, I anticipate seats filling quickly so please sign up early but NLT the 9h of May. Our conference will still be at IPFW but in the Walb Classic Ballroom. Registration/breakfast snacks start at 7:30am with the conference running from 8am to 1pm. The conference will end after our working lunch.
