Northeast PTAC Plans Workshops, NIDIA Conference

The Northeast Indiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is collaborating with the Northeast ISBDC to offer two upcoming workshops on government contracting that will take place on February 20 and March 11 at the NE-ISBDC. Indiana Builds on Small Business Grant Program

Indiana Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann announced this past July a partnership between the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (OSBE), and Elevate Ventures to help small businesses tap into the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These programs offer non-dilutive funding to small businesses to develop and hopefully commercialize new technologies. Last year alone, the federal government distributed nearly $2 billion of these awards to small businesses in a variety of different industry sectors. Exelis Awarded $28 Million For Direct Commercial Contract

Exelis has been awarded a direct commercial contract worth $28 million to provide an existing international customer with additional communications equipment, spare parts and ancillary devices. Communications equipment acquired under the contract includes the RT-1702 SINCGARS, or Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio Systems, along with installation kits and spares to support the system. Exelis has sold more than 600,000 SINCGARS radios with supporting ancillary devices worldwide.
