    Free Webinar Series: 20 Cyber Topics in 20 Weeks: Next Session July 30, 2020
    Since every company that conducts business with DoD must be at least Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 in the near future, your Indiana cyber-providers, in association with PTAC, have developed a free webinar series from July-December 2020.  “20 cyber topics in 20 weeks” will cover every security control required by CMMC Level 1 with a focus on practical solutions.  I have seen near-weekly webinars on various aspects of CMMC, but this is the first, of which I am aware, that provides the “complete package” of knowledge.  This series of webinars will be recorded for your viewing convenience.

  • 6th Annual Race for the Warrior

    On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 9 a.m., Northeast Indiana Base Community Council (NIBCC) will host its 6th Annual Race for the Warrior 5k/10k run/walk/roll runway race at the Fort Wayne International Airport.  The event will be held observing CDC and State of Indiana guidelines.

    This event is Northeast Indiana Base Community Council’s main fundraiser of the year, with proceeds benefiting the Military Support Fund, a program that awards grants to military families experiencing financial emergencies.

    Because of the recent pandemic and corresponding hardships, the necessity for this fundraiser has never been greater.  Northeast Indiana Base Community Council wants to continue to aid in the front lines while the need remains high but to do this we need your help in replenishing the Military Support Fund.  With your assistance, we can continue to help local military families by providing emergency financial grants when they face an emergency.

    We would like you to consider a contribution of $500 or more to help stabilize our base so we can continue to grow for the future and help the military families in our area.  We sincerely hope that you will do so and secondly promote the race to your employees either for individuals to run or a team entry.

  • Discussion: Ivy Tech Cyber Security “Closing the Skills Gap” Grant

    Ivy Tech Fort Wayne will be participating in a Cyber Security “Closing the Skills Gap” grant. We would like to discuss this grant and our participation with members of NIDIA and local industry.   • Purdue MEP Develops Return to Work & Recovery Guide

    To show our commitment to the manufacturing industry during this difficult time, Purdue MEP has developed an in-depth Returning to Work & Recovery Guide to assist the Indiana manufacturing industry. It is our hope this resource provides extended support as we all maintain, resume or restart operations. In conjunction with the Indiana Manufacturers Association, the plan will be rolled out this Thursday, May 21st.

    Information found in this guide is based on COVID-19 Best Practices as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Indiana State Department of Health, and other Governmental Regulations & Guidelines.

    This Returning to Work & Recovery Guide includes detailed guidance in the following areas:

    Expanding/Resuming Operations

    This section includes data regarding how long COVID-19 lives on various surfaces, and outlines procedures on how to clean work areas upon returning to work or if an employee tests positive for COVID-19.

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    The PPE paragraphs offer guidance on the type of PPE recommended for employees based on the specific duties they are assigned at your facility.

    Disinfection Protocol

    The recipe for bleach and water as a disinfectant is covered in this section. Additionally, there is a decontamination frequency chart and list of company and employee decontamination responsibilities.

    Self-Distancing

    The Self-Distancing/Social Distancing section describes the procedures to maintain at least 6 feet of separation at work, and additional precautions to follow when employees’ duties require working within 6 feet of one other.

    Monitor & Detection

    COVID-19 has a long incubation period, so it is important for employees to be aware of/ knowledgeable of the common symptoms. This will enable them to self-isolate when appropriate.  Additionally, the employer and co-workers can monitor for observable symptoms for the protection of all employees.

    Procedures for ‘Suspected’ Infection

     If someone tests positive at work, this section reviews isolation activities, PPE applications and the sanitization of the impacted work space.

    Signage

    – Signage can be used to convey important information regarding hygiene techniques (e.g. proper hand washing) and workspace cleaning.

    Return-To-Work (RTW) Contingency Planning and Checklist

    A convenient checklist is provided that summarizes the recommendations in this guide.
